Russian Defence Ministry report on repelling Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempt to invade Russian territory in Kursk region (15 September 2024)

MOSCOW: The Sever Group of Forces carrying on offensive actions inflicted damage on the 22nd, 41st, 61st, and 115th mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd and 95th air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the 112th, 129th territorial defence brigades near Lyubimovka, Novoivanovka, Daryino, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Pokrovsky, and Borki.

Over the past 24 hours, the Group's units repelled two enemy's counter-attacks in the direction of Lyubimovka and Malaya Loknya. The Russian units disrupted two enemy's attempts to attack in direction of Viktorovka, Olgovka, and Kremyanoye. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) losses amounted to up to 25 troops killed and wounded, one APC and two armoured fighting vehicles. Five AFU servicemen surrendered.

Over the past 24 hours, with support of army aviation and artillery, the Group's units repelled six enemy's attempts to break through the border of the Russian Federation in the direction of Novy Put, Vesyoloye, and Medvezhye. The AFU lost up to 60 troops killed and wounded, three tanks, an APC, and five armoured fighting vehicles,

Air strikes, artillery fire, and actions of the troops inflicted fire damage on clusters of manpower and hardware of the 22nd, 41st, 115th mechanised brigades, 80th and 95th air assault brigades, 129th Territorial Defence Brigade near Guyevo, Daryino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Kolmakov, Kruglenkoye, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Mirny, Nikolo-Daryino, Novoya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Obukhovka, Russkoye Porechnoye, and Yuzhny.

Operational-Tactical Aviation and Missile Troops launched strikes against clusters of the 21st, 22nd, 41st, mechanised brigades, 82nd Air Assault Brigade of the AFU, 1st Presidential Brigade, and 103rd and 106th territorial defence brigades of the AFU near Belpolye, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Obody, Katerinovka, Rechki, Pavlovka, Sosnovka, Sumy, Khoten, Yunakovka, Yastrebinoye, and Yampol.

For the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) losses amounted to more than 300 troops, 22 vehicles, including three tanks, four APCs, 15 armoured fighting vehicles, an artillery gun, and eight motor vehicles. Seven Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) servicemen surrendered.

Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost more than 13,400 troops, 113 tanks, 44 infantry fighting vehicles, 91 armoured personnel carriers, 718 armoured fighting vehicles, 431 motor vehicles, 96 artillery guns, 26 MLRS launchers, including seven of HIMARS and five of MLRS, eight SAM launchers, two transport-loading vehicles, 26 electronic warfare stations and seven counter-battery radars, two air defence radars, 13 engineering vehicles, including two counterobstacle vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle.

The operation to neutralise the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) units is in progress.
