Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that recent statements by US presidential candidate Donald Trump about a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin should be considered as part of the election campaign.
The statement of US presidential candidate Donald Trump with alleged threats to strike Moscow should be considered in the context of the election campaign of the former US president. This was reported to journalist Pavel Zarubin by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The politician also clarified that he did not want to interfere in the American elections.
According to Lavrov, on the eve of the US elections, the rivals "are focused on finding some theses that <...> are able to influence voters in their favor."
"I don't want to interfere in the American election campaign, but I think the whole point is that now the rivals in this race for the presidency in the White House are focused on finding some theses that, in their opinion, are able to influence voters in their favor," Lavrov said in response to a question about Trump's words. "I don't want to comment, because this statement was obviously made in the context of the election campaign and I don't want to comment on it," the minister added.
So, in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, Lavrov answered a question about Trump's statement, according to which, during one of the conversations with Putin, he allegedly threatened to use force against the Russian Federation.
