MINSK: Lavrov: The West is trying to turn the whole of Eurasia into an arena of confrontation. The Belarusian capital is hosting a large-scale forum on Eurasian security for the second time.

"Turkey's military-technical cooperation with Ukraine is puzzling against the background of Ankara's desire to mediate in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict"

This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Hurriyet newspaper.

"Unfortunately, Ankara continues to cooperate with the Kiev regime in the military-technical sphere. Turkish weapons are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to kill Russian military and civilians. This cannot but cause confusion against the background of statements by the Turkish leadership about their readiness to provide mediation services," the minister said.

The United States and its satellites are trying to turn the whole of Eurasia into an arena of geopolitical confrontation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a speech at the II International Conference on Eurasian Security, Sputnik reports.
He noted that the main trend for the years has been the formation of a multipolar world order.
"It is recognized by everyone. The transformations taking place in the world are a natural, irreversible process. It is associated with objective changes in the balance in the world. Strengthening new non-Western centers of economic growth and influence. This trend contributes to the democratization of international relations, in which there should be no hegemony of anyone," Lavrov said.
He called the implementation of the principles of the UN Charter in its entirety, and not selectively, a fundamental point.

At the same time, according to him, the West is aggravating the situation. Moreover, the United States and its allies are going to intervene in the fragile process of stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan, finding excuses for resuming their military presence in Central Asian countries.
According to the minister, as a result of such actions by the United States, NATO and the EU, the "risks of fragmentation of the continent" have increased.
"NATO is no longer satisfied with the war that the alliance has unleashed against Russia at the hands of the illegal authorities in Kiev. The entire OSCE space is not enough for him either. Now the United States and its satellites are trying to turn the whole of Eurasia into an arena of geopolitical confrontation," Lavrov added.
The Ukrainian crisis
The Russian Foreign Minister drew attention to the fact that, despite Russia's repeated warnings, NATO was recklessly expanding to the east, creating direct military threats to the Russian Federation directly on the borders.

According to him, such an aggressive course provoked the Ukrainian crisis, and the "trigger" was the coup d'etat organized by Washington and European allies in Kiev in February 2014. As a result, he led to the rise to power of ultranationalists who declared war on all Russians.
Lavrov recalled that the Ukrainian parliament recently banned the canonical Orthodox Church, although this goes against the first article of the UN Charter, which requires respect for human rights regardless of race, gender, language and religion.
"But the West turns a blind eye to this gross violation of the Charter by the Russophobic, racist regime in Kiev, continuing to promote the dead-end, I would even say stupid, formula of Zelensky's peace, which calls for Russia's surrender. And a couple of weeks ago, this citizen unveiled an equally schizophrenic "victory plan." Of course, neither the formula, nor the plan, nor the fantasies about the membership of Kiev–controlled Ukraine in NATO or the European Union bring peace in Europe closer," the minister added.
