Russian Defence Ministry reports on repelling Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempt to invade Russian territory in Kursk region (11 November 2024)

MOSCOW: The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise an enemy group, which broke into the territory of Kursk region.

The Sever Group of Forces continued offensive actions and inflicted losses on formations of 21st, 22nd, 41st, 47th, 61st, 115th mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, 103rd, 112th and 129th territorial defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Daryino, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, and Plyokhovo.

The Group's units repelled six enemy counter-attacks in the direction of Daryino, Nikolayevo-Daryino, and Novoivanovka.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) losses amounted to up to 70 people killed and wounded, a tank, two armoured personnel carriers, four armoured fighting vehicles, and a motor vehicle were neutralised. Five AFU servicemen surrendered.

Army aviation and artillery inflicted losses on clusters of manpower and hardware of 21st, 22nd, 41st 47th, 61st mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, and 95th airborne assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade as well as 103rd, 112th, 118th, 129th territorial defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 17th National Guard Brigade of Ukraine near Agronom, Aleksandriya, Bondarevka, Guyevo, Daryino, Kazachya Loknya, Kurilovka, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Loknya, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Mirny, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Plyokhovo, Sverdlikovo, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.

Operational-Tactical Aviation and Missile Troops have attacked concentration areas in the Sumy region and reserves of the 22nd, 41st, 44th, and 115th mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 95th Air Assault Brigade as well as 103rd Territorial Defence Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and 1st National Guard Brigade near Basovka, Belovody, Vesyolovka, Zhuravka, and Sumy.

Over 300 troops, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armoured personnel carriers, eight armoured fighting vehicles, three artillery guns, a mortar, and seven motor vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been neutralised during the day. Five Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) servicemen surrendered.

Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk region, the AFU losses amounted to more than 31,390 troops, 195 tanks, 127 infantry fighting vehicles, 109 armoured personnel carriers, 1,110 armoured fighting vehicles, 850 motor vehicles, 265 artillery guns, 40 MLRS launchers, including 11 of HIMARS and six of MLRS made by the USA, 11 anti-aircraft missile launchers, seven transport-loading vehicles, 62 EW stations, 12 counter-battery warfare radars, four air defence radars, 26 units of engineering and other materiel, including 13 counterobstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, five armoured recovery vehicles, and one command post vehicle.

The operation to neutralise the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) units is in progress.
