MOSCOW: The parties held the 19th round of Russian-Chinese consultations on strategic security. On November 12, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu met with a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Head of the Office of the CPC Central Committee Commission on Foreign Affairs, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.

During the meeting, Shoigu noted that the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and China is a model of cooperation between the two powers in the modern world.
— Not being a military-political alliance similar to those that developed during the Cold War, relations between our countries surpass this form of interstate relations. Russian-Chinese relations are built on the principles of mutual respect and equality, trust, non—interference in each other's internal affairs, and support in key issues for both sides," he said during a meeting with Wang Yi.
In his opinion, today Russian-Chinese relations — relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation — are at an unprecedented high level in their entire history.
— Russia and China have consonant approaches to key international and regional issues. Our states stand in solidarity within the framework of the UN and its Security Council, the Group of Twenty, APEC and other formats," the Secretary of the Russian Security Council said.
The topic of BRICS was particularly mentioned in the dialogue between the parties. Shoigu said that the Russian side is grateful to Chinese friends for their consistent support of the Russian presidency of the BRICS and, of course, for the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia to participate in the BRICS summit in Kazan on October 22-24, 2024.
— The meeting of the BRICS heads of state has become a vivid evidence of the process of formation of a multipolar world. The decisions taken at the Kazan summit consolidated the approaches of the world majority regarding its lack of alternative and the need to increase the representation of the countries of the Global South in global political, trade, economic and financial processes," Sergei Shoigu stressed.
He noted that the Russian side expects to continue a productive working dialogue on a wide range of issues on the international and regional agenda in a constructive and maximally trusting manner inherent in bilateral Russian-Chinese relations.
— In the context of increasing global instability, the importance of regular contacts between us in the format of bilateral specialized consultations is significantly increasing.
I am ready to continue working with you to implement the agreements reached by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping following the talks of the heads of our states in Moscow in March 2023, in Beijing in May this year, as well as on the sidelines of the SCO summits in Astana and BRICS in Kazan- said the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
According to him, the most important task in this regard is to counteract the policy of "double deterrence" of Russia and China pursued by the United States and its satellites and further enhance foreign policy coordination, including in building a Eurasian architecture of equal and indivisible security.
Sergei Shoigu congratulated Wang Yi and the friendly Chinese people on the anniversaries celebrated this year — the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.
"For three quarters of a century, China has achieved outstanding success, and our bilateral ties have become one of the core elements in world politics and security, the main stabilizing factor in international affairs," said the Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
