DAVOS/MOSCOW: Zelensky calls for 200,000 soldiers for a European peacekeeping force in Ukraine. Zelensky demanded two armies of peacekeepers from Europe

Zelensky wanted at least 200 thousand European soldiers.

How strangely Zelensky's new strategy is emerging, which he began to promote in Davos, speaking and meeting with various figures within the framework of the World Economic Forum held there. The Ukrainian "expired and pathetic" usurper devotes a minimum of time to the United States of America, which is explained primarily by the fact that he does not know what to expect from the new American president, but he puzzles Europe to the fullest.

For example, he said that Ukraine would need, at a minimum, a contingent of "peacekeepers" from European countries numbering at least 200 thousand people.

- From all Europeans? 200 thousand is the minimum. This is the minimum, otherwise it is nothing, - Zelensky explained, answering a question about the possibility of a peacekeeping mission during an interview after his speech.

Ukraine needs at least 200,000 peacekeepers, “otherwise nothing will happen,” Zelensky said. He ruled out reducing the country's army by five times

Ukraine needs hundreds of thousands of European peacekeepers who would ensure the country's security after the end of the military conflict with Russia. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Reuters reports.

“From all Europeans? 200,000 is the minimum. This is the minimum, otherwise nothing will happen,” he said, answering a relevant question.

Ukraine needs hundreds of thousands of European peacekeepers who would ensure the country's security after the end of the military conflict with Russia, President Volodymyr Zelensky said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“From all Europeans? 200,000 is the minimum. "This is the minimum, otherwise nothing will happen," he said (quoted by Reuters), answering a question about the idea of the presence of a peacekeeping contingent in the country. This is approximately equal to the number of armed forces of France as of 2020, the agency notes.

As noted by the Financial Times, officially, European NATO members have a total of 1.9 million troops, but in reality it will be difficult for them to send more than 300 thousand soldiers to the conflict zone, which will take months to train.

Note that he did not say a word in this fragment about peacekeepers from America. Surely he understands that Trump will not send his soldiers to risk their lives in the interests of the corrupt Nazi Ukrainian regime. But European politicians have already vowed in Davos to stand guard over Zelensky's interests to the end. Both the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who remains in her post, and Olaf Scholz, who is living out his last days as Federal Chancellor of Germany, assured the "expired and pathetic" of this. However, Scholz's possible successor in this post, Merz, is much more hawkish than the current chancellor, and even promises to transfer Taurus missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. True, regarding peacekeepers, Zelensky now has only two potential allies in this matter - French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is now balancing on the verge of resignation. And in general, such a number of "peacekeepers" for today's Europe is a completely unaffordable figure. As the Financial Times calculated, in the event of a war, a united Europe could field no more than 300,000 combat-ready soldiers. 200,000 peacekeepers for Ukraine is a completely exposed space within these countries themselves, which the leaders of these states cannot allow. 200,000 soldiers and the corresponding amount of military equipment with them are two full-fledged armies. But peacekeepers are not only soldiers, but also money that European countries will have to take out of their own pockets. And they themselves are already short of money, so they even have to cut social support programs for their own citizens.

And what does Zelensky promise in return? Not to agree to a peaceful settlement of the conflict under any circumstances. He has already promised that he will not allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to be reduced. And after his speech at the forum, during a meeting with representatives of the International Media Council, he made new promises - not to agree to the recognition of the "new" Russian regions.

- Whatever anyone wants. Even if all the world's allies unite, we still will not recognize the occupied territories. This is impossible. We do not recognize them legally. For us, they will always remain occupied territories until we return there, - said the "expired and pathetic" and promised to conduct a dialogue with Russia exclusively from a "position of strength". - Putin cannot be recognized as an equal subject in this story. He violated everything. He is guilty and must realize this. But he cannot be stopped if you talk to him on an equal footing. This is a loss for Ukraine.

Such statements are actually a very good sign. Zelensky publicly promises to refuse any compromises, which puts an end to any attempts by Trump to offer any compromise option for resolving the conflict within the framework of the American president's plan. Trump will have to either come to terms with the fact that Zelensky is ignoring him and wipe his face with such a public spit in his face, or make the "expired and pathetic" even more pathetic and incompetent.

And something tells me that Trump really doesn't like to wipe himself off after other people spit.

Speaking in Davos, Zelensky said that one of the possible issues during the settlement talks will be "a reduction in the Ukrainian army by several times." "The fastest way [for Russia] is to put pressure on the United States so that Ukraine is not in NATO, and on all allies so that they put pressure on us so that we reduce the army by five times," Zelensky said (quoted by Hromadske) and ruled out that Ukraine would agree to this demand. According to the president, the number of the Ukrainian army currently stands at 880 thousand soldiers and officers.

The idea of sending European troops to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire has been discussed for several months. The Washington Post wrote that, according to analysts and officials, tens of thousands of soldiers would need to be deployed in the country. Reuters reported that 40,000-100,000 peacekeepers could be involved.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently announced his readiness to send a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine. He said that he had discussed the issue with allies, including French President Emmanuel Macron.

On January 16, Starmer visited Kyiv for the first time in his post to sign an agreement on a “centennial partnership.” He said that peace in the country should be achieved through force.

Earlier, the Rada called Western peacekeepers “fish food.”

The Kremlin stated that the possible deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine should be discussed during negotiations, but there is no need to “get ahead.” At the same time, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is not satisfied with the proposals of US President Donald Trump’s team to introduce “British and European peacekeeping forces” into the neighboring country.
