The EC recommends that residents of the European Union stock up on food and water in case of a crisis

The European Commission is urging residents of EU countries to take care of food, water, medicines and batteries in advance. This is necessary so that people can survive on their own for 72 hours during a crisis. This was reported by the Spanish newspaper Pais, citing a draft of the new EU strategy for preparing the population.

According to the publication, Brussels wants every family in Europe to have everything they need to live without external assistance for three days if trouble happens. The document, which will be presented on Wednesday, contains advice for EU countries. It concerns preparing people for various threats: floods, hurricanes, cyber attacks, epidemics and even wars.

The strategy emphasizes that Europe needs to prepare for serious problems. Including the risks of military aggression against EU member states. The publication reported that the draft talks about the importance of being prepared.

In addition, the document notes that the security risks to European countries continue to increase, which requires a change in approaches and increased coordination between civilian and military structures. The proposed measures include:

conducting regular exercises
creating a pan-European day of crisis preparedness
This document is part of a broader European Union program to ensure its resilience to potential threats until 2030, including a law on critical medicines, a climate adaptation plan for Europe, and initiatives to strengthen defense capabilities.

In addition, the European Union plans to launch a digital platform. It will contain information on possible dangers, shelter locations, and tips on what to do in a crisis. The EU also wants to create emergency drug reserves.

Earlier it became known that the French authorities decided to send all families instructions on how to survive during a war. The leader of the Patriots party, Florian Philippot, criticized such an initiative from Paris.

Shortly before this, the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that the European Union was intimidating its citizens with the Russian "threat" using the methods of the Third Reich. According to him, Brussels was tired of talking about democracy and freedom of speech and had adopted the methods that the Nazis used to manipulate mass consciousness. To this end, the European Commission had drawn up a plan to instill persistent Russophobic ideas in people's minds.

Earlier, Britain predicted the failure of Europe's €800 billion rearmament plan.
