In turn, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during his speech, noted the need to introduce a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He called such a step a key factor in establishing lasting peace in the Middle East, for which the countries need to cooperate closely.
Lavrov, who arrived in Riyadh the day before, has already held bilateral talks with GCC Secretary General Jasem al-Budeiwi, as well as Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.
Lavrov drew attention to the fact that Russia is working with all sides to normalize the situation in this regard.
Earlier, Lavrov said that Qatar plays a key role in the process of negotiations that contribute to the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
