Deputy Defence Minister Colonel General Aleksandr Fomin attends 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum

MOSCOW: (yesterday) Today, on 13 September 2024, Deputy Defence Minister Colonel General Aleksandr Fomin has participated in the 11th Xiangshan Forum, which is taking place in Beijing, the People's Republic of China.

In his address to the first plenary session, Aleksandr Fomin outlined Russia's approaches to key security issues in the world and in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the conference, the Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation held bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations of China, Brunei, Laos, Mongolia and Iran. At the meetings, the sides discussed bilateral military cooperation in detail.

The Beijing Xiangshan Forum is one of the leading international platforms for discussing security issues in the Asia-Pacific region. The event is held annually by the CAMS and China Institute of International Strategic Studies.

The Xiangshan Forum aims to strengthen cooperation on security and defence issues and promote regional peace and stability by combining approaches and expanding interaction. Adhering to the principles of 'equality, openness, inclusiveness and mutual respect, the Forum strives to develop military cooperation and find solutions to security challenges in the Asia-Pacific region and in the whole world.
