BEIRUT: The Israeli Army announced the elimination of one of the leaders of Hezbollah, Nabil Kauk. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the liquidation of Nabil Kauk, a member of the central council of the Shiite Hezbollah party, in Lebanon. According to the ministry's press service, the man was eliminated as a result of a targeted airstrike that Israel launched on September 28 in Beirut. On September 23, Israel announced the launch of a "pre-emptive offensive operation" in Lebanon, which was codenamed "Arrows of the North."

According to the IDF, the purpose of the operation is Hezbollah's infrastructure, which the Shiite group has been building for the past 20 years. The chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, said that the military's actions are aimed at creating conditions for the return of residents of northern Israel to their homes.

Hezbollah is also attacking Israel in response. On the night of September 28, the IDF recorded the launch of at least 65 rockets from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Details about what is happening in the Middle East were collected by the newspaper.
