MOSCOW: Turkey's possible entry into the BRICS will be beneficial not only to Ankara, but also to the whole world. This was stated by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) in an interview with TASS Turkey's Numan Kurtulmus. "Turkey's presence in the BRICS will actually make a much more serious contribution to the cause of world peace. After all, Turkey is a country that simultaneously participates in many formats of international cooperation," he said.
In his opinion, Turkey's accession to the BRICS will not limit Turkey, but on the contrary, expand its foreign policy capabilities.
On September 24, a leading researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, political scientist Konstantin Blokhin, said that Turkey's attempt to join the BRICS could be a serious blow to the North Atlantic Alliance.
September 24, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish party Vatan ("Homeland") Hakan Topkurulu said that Turkey's application to the BRICS and its potential accession to the union would be a revolutionary event, as the country would "break the chain of NATO."
Earlier, Putin said that he was waiting for Erdogan in Kazan at the BRICS summit.
