UN Member Nations on Tensions in Middle East

Tensions in West Asia and Middle East are on a boil after Iran's October 1 - Tuesday - attack when it launched over a 100 ballistic missiles into Israel, targeting country's military infrastructure. Iran's attack came days after an Israeli airstrike killed Hezbollah's chief Hassan Nasrallah on September 27. Now, a day after the attack, the recent escalation in tensions in the region was discussed by the United Nations member countries in New York.

United States President Joe Biden while speaking on the situation in West Asia said that they are discussing with Israel adding they will talk to Netanyahu in a while regarding tensions. Israel said that Iran's act was a deliberate attempt to strike at the very heart of our society. "Even before the missiles rained down the bloodshed had already began."

India said that it's deeply concerned over escalating tensions in West Asia and called for restraint by all the sides. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, "I spoke with fellow G7 leaders this morning. We condemned Iran's missile attack on Israel - another reckless, destabilising attack by the Iranian regime." "Our collective goal is very clear: We must prevent conflict from expanding, for the safety of civilians across the region. We need de-escalation - immediately," Trudeau said.
