BUDAPEST: The West entered into a proxy war in Ukraine, which is understood in all sensible communities, and lost it. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Orban said that the West lost the proxy war in Ukraine. The West entered into a proxy war in Ukraine, which is understood in all sensible communities, and lost it, which has acquired an additional burden, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview with the Hungarian YouTube channel Öt.

"Losing a war is serious. The fact that this is a proxy war is no longer in doubt these days... The Western world is behind the Ukrainians, which is losing this war. Or even lost it," Orban said in an interview with the Hungarian YouTube channel Öt.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, American leader Donald Trump is presenting America's withdrawal from the conflict and efforts to resolve it as saving the United States from a "very serious defeat."

However, in Western Europe, Orban noted, the situation is much more complicated - no changes are happening there, and they still want to continue this war.

"European leaders do not dare to admit that they lost this war. They dragged Europe into a war that they ultimately lost," the Hungarian Prime Minister said.

"The West lost this war, which became a huge burden for the entire Western world. Losing a war is serious. The fact that this is a proxy war is no longer questioned in thinking communities these days (and if not - ed.), then these are not thinking communities... The Western world is behind the Ukrainians, which is losing this war. And even lost," Orban said.

Earlier, Balázs Orbán, an adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, said at the Money Talks conference that Kyiv's possible accession to the EU could result in costs of 2.5 trillion euros for the community's countries. He also said that another half a trillion euros would be needed to restore Ukraine.
